"Ken" and Barbie came to DunRoamin' on November 26, 2013 from the Woodstock area.  They were the last two remaining puppies from a litter.  People were told that if they didn't get a home very quickly . . .  so they took both to ensure they'd be safe.  However, they were unable to keep them.

Ken and Barbie were about nine weeks old (born about September 25, 2013) and are Terrier mixes who may grow to be approximately 25 pounds, but we'll see as they age.  They had TERRIBLE fleas and tapeworms, but of course the staff at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic have made sure they have everything they need to become healthy.  They were fostered in Jacksonville while they awaited the family of which they are so deserving.  On December 20, 2013, Barbie was adopted.

On December 20, 2013, Ken was ecstatic to learn he had a new family also!  He now lives in Bedell with his new family.  Congratulations!  We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a great life!

"Orson" and his brother Wilbur came to us on December 9, 2013 from the Knowlesville area. They were born about September 30, 2013 and are neutered Caucasian Mountain Dogs who may grow to approximately 120 - 150 lb.  They’ve already received their first vaccinations.  They are members of a large, stubborn, long-haired breed which requires regular physical activity, lots of socialization with people and other dogs and regular grooming due to their long coat.  Although they sometimes are used as livestock protection dogs, they will be adopted only on the condition that they will be indoor family pets, not outside guard dogs.  They will require large-breed puppy food until they are at least 12 - 15 months of age and also need lots of exercise, so they'll need an active family.

At 10 weeks of age, Orson and Wilbur were already about 25 pounds each.  They're playful, happy and loving little puppies who want to be family dogs.  They already like kids and cats.  Their new family must commit to attend obedience classes with them to ensure they are trained commensurate with their size.  Experience with large-breed dogs is also an asset for potential adopters.

On December 20, 2013, Orson went to his new home in Somerville.  Congratulations, Big Guy!  Merry Christmas!!

"Martin" was born about the first of February, 2012 in Palm Springs, California, USA.   As the product of a hoarding situation, he and many of his friends were rescued by the Animal Rescue Corps and brought to the Maritimes to find homes.  Martin was adopted on March 13, 2013 to a family in Fredericton but the situation was not a good fit and he came back to us to find another home.

Martin is a sweetheart.  He likes to sit close to his humans and is very playful with his canine friends.  He loves to run.  He loves his foster family and the other dogs and cats with whom he lives.  He knows how to sit and comes when called.  He enjoys his long walks in the woods and is a perfect fit with an active, loving family.

On December 19, 2013 Martin went to his forever home where he'll run, play and be loved forever.  We'll miss you more than you could ever know.  We're all grateful to have been a part of your new life.

"Gourd" came to DunRoamin' from Upper Brighton on November 26, 2013.  He was thin, had fleas, was matted and had marked tartar and periodontal disease which required several tooth extractions.  He and a cat had been found on the road all alone with no one around to care for them.  They both needed help, Gourd especially.

Gourd's medical requirements were addressed at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and he was fostered by his vet and her pack of dogs with whom he got along famously.

On December 18, 2013, Gourd was adopted by a loving family who will spoil him beyond his wildest dreams.  No more walking those cold and lonely back roads, Gourd!  You got your Christmas wish!  Merry Christmas!!

"Whoopie" came to DunRoamin' on December 16, 2013 from the Stickney area.  She's a Shih-tzu mix who is about a year old.  She had been in two different homes, neither of which could keep her.  She was thin, not spayed and very timid.  She was also so severely matted that she had to be shaved from head to toe.  She was vaccinated, bathed and treated for parasites.  She will be spayed when she's healthy enough.  Whoopie is a very loving little girl who loves to be held.

On December 17, 2013 Whoopie, now known as Daisy, was adopted by a couple from Moose Mountain.  We're very sure she's got the home she deserves.  Thanks, John, for giving her the life she deserves.  She couldn't possibly get a better Christmas gift.

"Wilbur" and his brother Orson came to us on December 9, 2013 from the Knowlesville area. They were born about September 30, 2013 and are neutered Caucasian Mountain Dogs who may grow to approximately 120 - 150 lb.

On December 16, 2013, the perfect family stepped up for Wilbur.  He'll live in Greenfield with a very experienced and loving family who will give him the life he deserves.  Thanks very much.  Congratulations, Wilbur!!

"Ari" came to DunRoamin' on April 20, 2013 from Belleville, NB where she had been struck by a vehicle.  She was surrendered to DunRoamin' to get medical care.  She weighs about 45 lb.

Ari was about two years old and is a Boxer mix.  She was not spayed, but is now.  Her left hind hip was dislocated, but she has received medical care and she is just fine now!  She loves people, other dogs, cars and anything that loves her back.  She's the joy of her foster mother with whom she has lived with her friend Gidget since April, 2013!

On December 14, 2013, both Ari and her friend Gidget were adopted by a family in Woodstock.  We're so happy they get to stay together as a family.  They are Mia's Christmas present, the thing she has dreamed about most in the world.  Now she says she has to find another dream!  Merry Christmas to your family!

"Hoden" became a ward of DunRoamin' on October 23, 2013.  He had been rescued from his owners who had attempted to castrate him using a rubber band which caused serious medical complications and a significant amount of pain and discomfort.  He's a very lucky boy to have received the medical care he required thanks to the skills and determination of his vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He was also happy to have lots to eat and he filled out in no time!  He is a Mastiff mixed breed and was born about April, 2012.

Regardless of what he's been through, Hoden is full of life, love and energy.  He's a boisterous little boy who is very happy to have people around him to please.  He's willing to do anything to make you happy!

On December 9, 2013 Hoden was adopted by a family in Florenceville.  Now known as Dozer, he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations!  Merry Christmas!!

"Taylor" came back to DunRoamin' on November 18, 2013.  She originally came to DunRoamin' on November 9, 2011 from the St Basille area as one of more than 140 dogs who were seized by the SPCA.  She had been born about 2008 and was very timid and nervous.  Taylor is a beautiful Sheltie who is unique in that she has both blue and brown pigment in her left eye.  She is still a bit nervous and must be kept on a leash while outdoors.

Taylor was adopted on November 21, 2011, but was surrendered back to DunRoamin' after she sustained a blockage in her intestine, but she's just fine now, thanks to the surgical skills she was able to take advantage of at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  She's a beautiful little girl who deserves the best in life.

On November 28, 2013, Taylor got exactly what she deserves.  She'll live in Bath with the loving and caring family with whom she's exceptionally happy to know that she'll spend the rest of her life.  She'll have lots of family including several unique and affectionate cats as well as another Sheltie.  Congratulations, Taylor!

"Sienna" came to DunRoamin' on November 20, 2013 from the Edmundston area where she had stood the chance of being euthanized because she was deaf.  A lady rescued her from that fate but found she was unable to keep her herself.  Sienna is a five-month old Daschund.

Although she is hearing impaired, she still hears a little and is a beautiful and loving little girl.  She's fortunate to have found help.

On November 22, 2013, Sienna was adopted by a lady in Woodstock where she'll live the life she was meant to as a loved, valuable and contributing member of a loving family.  Congratulations, Sienna!

"Shelby" came to DunRoamin' on June 12, 2013 from the Woodstock area when her time was up with the dog catcher.  She's a Sheltie mix and is a very nice girl.  She's about one year old.

Shelby initially had some separation anxiety but has learned much since then.  She likes other dogs, cats and kids and bonds to humans easily.  She does well when left in a secure cage.  Shelby is spayed and vaccinated as are all DunRoamin' cats and dogs.  She lived in a foster home with several other dogs and cats and would like to say thank you to her foster family.

On November 12, 2013 we learned that Shelby had been chosen to be the newest member of a family that she's been waiting for for what seems like forever!  Congratulations, Shelby!  Please send us a new family photo for our website.

"Leland" came to us on August 2, 2013 from Kintore.  He had been seen as an injured stray and a kind gentleman had tried to help him but Leland had been upset, injured and scared.  As a result, he growled at anyone who tried to approach him.  Our resident dog expert, Dr Drost, attended his location to assist.  Leland was in the woods about 30 feet off a dirt road and had been there at least all night in the pouring cold rain.  He was soaked to the skin, cold, shaking and of course very scared and in pain.  He responded to Dr Drost who was able to approach him and convince him that he was now safe and would get the help he needed.  He was carried out of the woods and deposited in a vehicle with warm blankets, a bowl of food which he scarfed down immediately and a kind student with lots of body heat to keep him company on the ride back to the Florenceville Vet Clinic.  He repeatedly licked his young rescuer's face and climbed onto his lap for comfort.  He's very loving, affectionate and grateful for the chance to be warm, safe, hugged and pain free.  Leland is a Collie mix who is about 4 or 5 years old.

Leland had most probably been struck by a car and his injuries were at least several days old, if not more.  His left hind leg was badly broken, he had multiple lacerations on his body and bruises on his head.  The pads of three of his feet were scraped off.   He was very skinny and hungry.  And in a lot of pain.

As a plate was required to be inserted to fix his leg, he was transported to the Oakes Veterinary Hospital in Moncton where he underwent surgery.  He also required a bone graft.  Thanks to our friends at Oakes Veterinary Hospital - we can't express how grateful we are for your assistance with Leland.  He's got a great appetite for food and friendship!  Leland also loves cats.  He's very gentle and affectionate with them, especially kittens.  He loves people and is very grateful to all who made this new life possible, including the gentlemen who recognized his need for help and the numerous people who donated to help cover the cost of his surgery.

On November 12, 2013, we learned that Leland was welcomed as the newest family of his current foster mother in Woodstock.  He's got it made now with a young couple who think he's great.  He'll have lots of canine and feline company also.  Thanks to his new family for everything you've done for him and for the numerous DunRoamin' strays you've assisted over the past few years. You are a true friend to DunRoamin' and all animals in need.  Congratulations, Leland!

"Brooke" came to DunRoamin' on the evening of August 24, 2013 from River de Chute.  Some people walking in the woods heard a noise and found her trapped in some brambles and unable to move.  It took them quite some time to extricate her.  She is at least 12 years old and may be older.  She had poor vision, difficulty walking, was dehydrated and had maggots on her body.  Her fur was matted three to four inches deep from head to tail so badly that she was required to be completely shaved.  She was exhausted and confused.  She appears to be a Samoyed mix.

Brooke underwent medical care and it's taken her awhile, but she is doing very well.  She's very appreciative of the attention she gets and enjoys all the people who come to visit her.

On November 10, 2013 she was adopted by her friends in Riverbank.  She'll continue to meet and greet her friends and live with her adopted family where she's experiencing the love and attention she deserves.  She's a very fortunate little girl.

"Chevy" came from the Fredericton area on September 27, 2013.  He's a 21-kg German Shepherd mix who is about two years of age.  He was in danger of being euthanized as there appeared to be no other option for him when his elderly owner could not keep him with her any longer.  He was vaccinated, treated for parasites and neutered.

Chevy was originally quite scared and confused, but he had the huge advantage of being fostered by our friends at Paw and Order in Keswick (www.pawandorder.ca).  He did very well there under the guidance of Stephanie as she helped him to become trusting and relaxed again.  He loves to cuddle, climbs on your lap for a hug and gets along very well with other dogs and cats.  He has absolutely no aggressive tendencies and is very sweet.  He isn't very interested in getting into vehicles, but Paw and Order is teaching him that they're not a bad thing and he'll be begging for car rides soon!

On October 18, 2013, Chevy was adopted by a loving family in Penniac, NB.  He's a very lucky boy and he thanks Stephanie and Paw and Order, Keswick for his second chance at life.

"Guppy," a 12-week old black lab mixed-breed dog came to DunRoamin' on September 30, 2013 from the Fredericton area where a young person learned that she was being physically abused and beaten by the children of her family.  She's just a baby.  She was obtained from her owners and brought for help.  Our friends at Paw and Order in Keswick (www.pawandorder.ca) have graciously offered to foster her so that she can have a chance at a loving home.

Guppy will be spayed and will receive all vaccinations, deworming, etc, as do all DunRoamin' animals.  She's a priceless little ball of love and energy and she's looking for a kind and loving home where she can grow up without the threat of pain or injury.   She attended her first puppy classes on September 30 and did exceptionally well.  And she spent her first night sleeping soundly in an open kennel.  She's quite the girl!

On September 30, 2013 Guppy, now called Callie, was adopted by a young lady in Hartford.  She'll have the best of all worlds there!  Congratulations, Callie!  Please keep in touch and bring your new mother to visit us!

"Alice" originally came to DunRoamin' on April 25, 2013.  She was a beautiful five-year old Collie mix who was found near Beaconsfield miles from any houses.  She was covered with burdocks and was quite thin.  She quickly became healthy and comfortable with her new life.

Alice was adopted on May 20, 2013 but her new owner eventually moved to the city where Alice did not adjust well, so she came back to us on September 15.  She likes the country life.  Alice likes cats and other dogs.  She's good in the car, is house trained and walks well on a leash.  She is already spayed and vaccinated, as are all DunRoamin' animals.

On September 26, 2013 Alice was adopted by a very nice man in Woodstock.  Congratulations, Alice.  You hit the jackpot!!

"Stanley" came back to DunRoamin' on September 18, 2013.  He was born about July 1, 2010 and had originally come from the Dump Road area between Florenceville and Bristol on June 4, 2011 where he had been found wanderall all alone.  He was exhausted and terrified.  He became known as the "Stanley Pup" because of the battle between Boston and Vancouver which was currently being fought over the famous hockey trophy.  Stanley was adopted on August 14, 2011 to a family in Woodstock.

Stanley came back to us to find a new home as his owners could no longer care for him.  He was fostered by our very good friends from Paw and Order in Keswick (check out pawandorder.ca).

On September 26, 2013 we learned that Stanley would now have a permanent home with a couple from the Saint John area.  He'll be a friend for their other dog and also a cat!  Congratulations to all.  Stanley thanks Stephanie at Paw and Order for his new home.

"Venus" and her brother Jupiter came to us on August 27, 2013 from the Tobique area.  Their mother and sibling had both recently died and it was thought that they may have Parvovirus, a dangerous and contagious disease.  They were born about June 1, 2013.  They appear to be Mastiff mixed breeds.  Venus has white on her face and weighs about 38 pounds.  Both dogs were dewormed and will be spayed and neutered as well as vaccinated, as are all DunRoamin' strays.

Jupiter and Venus were tested and treated.  It appears they may not have contracted Parvovirus, but their staff is erring on the side of caution to ensure that there is no danger.  Both are extremely loving, playful and affectionate little guys who will be eager to have a home in the very near future.

On September 3, 2013 Venus was adopted by a lady in Fredericton.  Congratulations, Venus.  Have a great life.

"Jupiter" and his sister Venus came to us on August 27, 2013 from the Tobique area.  Their mother and sibling had both recently died and it was thought that they may have had Parvovirus, a dangerous and contagious disease.  They were born about June 1, 2013.  They appear to be Mastiff mixed breeds.  Jupiter has a dark nose, weighs about 35 pounds and is very loving and affectionate.

On September 3, 2013 Jupiter was adopted by a family in Woodstock.  He's gonna be just fine, now!  Congratulations to him and his family.

"Django" came to us on June 5, 2013 from the Tobique area where he had been tied on a chain which had wrapped around his leg.  He had sustained a spiral fracture to his right hind tibia and fibula and required surgery.  He also had contracted parvovirus and was quite ill.

Django was treated for parvovirus from which he recovered well.  His leg injury required surgery and a cast and is healing well.  He's a very nice boy who was born about August, 2012.  He's anxious for a new family.  He thanks his foster mother who graciously agreed to let him live with her in Bedell during his recovery.

On August 30, 2013 Django was adopted by a family in Jacksonville.  He's got a great home and the rest of his life will be exactly what it should be.  No more chains, Django!

"Jimmy" was found in Wicklow on August 3, 2013.  He had an injured left hind leg - probably the result of an altercation with a motor vehicle (which he lost).  He also had tics and was a very scared little boy.  He's about four years old and is a Collie/Husky mix.

He's a beautiful little boy who has the most gorgeous brown eyes you'll ever see.  He loves all his foster brothers and sisters.

On August 28, 2013 we learned that Jimmy will now have a home in Kingsclear with two other dogs, one of whom is a former DunRoamin' dog.  We know you've got it made now, Jimmy.  Please write often.

"Bertha" came to DunRoamin' on August 1, 2013 from the Knowlesville area.  She had been a stray who had been in the area for quite some time but was unowned and was in danger of being euthanized as a result.  She was very matted, scared and insecure.  She was born about 2001.  She is a Brittany Spaniel or Border Collie mix.

Bertha is stll easily startled but has already come a very long way in her foster home.  She's a sweetheart who is grateful for the new life she has.  She responds well to suggestions and gets along very well with the half-dozen dogs she's fostered with.

On August 28, 2013, she was adopted by a couple who sees her true beauty.  She'll live with several other dogs and cats in the best family she could ever dream of having.  Congratulations, Bertha!  We know you're smiling now!

"Annie" came to DunRoamin' on July 8, 2013 from the Perth-Andover area.  DunRoamin' supporters noticed a dead puppy on the side of the road.  This puppy's mom and sister were roaming around, much too close to the same danger to which the other puppy had succumbed.  The owner of the dogs had a baby and did not wish to let them inside the home.  Her rescuers brought her to DunRoamin'.

Annie is a healthy puppy at about three months of age, other than having worms and fleas.  She now has a chance to continue her life in a safe manner.  She was fostered by her rescuers and was spayed and vaccinated, as are all DunRoamin' strays.  She's very friendly and happy, likes other dogs and cats.

On August 17, 2013 Annie went to her new home in St Stephen.  We'd like to thank this family for giving her the life she deserves.  Congratulations, Annie.  Please send us photos and tell us about your new life!

"Joe Dirt" came to us on July 29, 2013 from the Plaster Rock area where he had been found all alone on a road with no homes nearby.  He was either lost or abandoned.  Luckily for him, a very nice couple found him and brought him for help.  He's a Lab mixed breed who appears to have been born about the first of May, 2013.

Joe Dirt is a very sweet little boy.  He LOVES people and is already mostly house-trained.  He'll be an excellent best friend for a child or adult - he loves them all!  He was fortunate to find a foster home with a caring vet tech who soon came under his spell of sweetness.  We had many applications to give this little boy a home.

On July 31, 2013 Joe went to live with a couple in Moncton who are the absolute perfect match for him.  Congratulations, Joe!  Have a wonderful life!  Please send pictures often!

"Munroe" came to DunRoamin' on June 28, 2013 from Kintore where he had spent his entire life of three years on a chain.  Neighbours gave him shelter and water but his owners wanted to find someone to shoot him.  The neighbours rescued him and brought him to us.  He's a hound-type boy who weighs about 60 pounds.

Munroe is a calm dog who likes cats and other dogs.  He didn't know what stairs or thresholds were and he was totally uncomfortable on floors, never having walked on them before.  However, his foster mother enlightened him on all these wonderful new things and he learned very well.  His entire world has changed and he's hoping for a family who will love him and give him the kind of life he deserves.  He's a sweetheart.

On July 29, 2013 Munroe was adopted by a family in California Settlement, NB.  Congratulations, Munroe.  We're VERY happy for you and your new family!

"Filomena" came to us on July 9, 2013.  She is a seven-week-old Lab/Shepherd mixed breed who came from the Kingsclear area.  A young girl observed some teenagers holding her down, blowing marijuana smoke into her mouth and then throwing her in the river.  She went to get help for Filomena and she was rescued from the situation.

Filomena is currently fostered by Paw and Order in Keswick Ridge, NB.  They report that she is friendly, playful, loves the outdoors, pees and poops outside and is a delight to interact with.  She will be spayed and vaccinated at the earliest opportunity. She thanks her young rescuer and Stephanie at Paw and Order for giving her a chance at a good life.

On July 10, 2013, Filomena was adopted by a lady who lives in the Keswick area.  Filomena will be a friend for her two pets and will spend her entire day with her new mother at work.  A whole new world has just begun.  Congratulations, Filomena!

"Kirby" is a toy Poodle who came to DunRoamin' on June 29, 2013 from the Perth-Andover area.  He had been abandoned in a trailer when people moved away and was finally found and taken in by a man who could not keep him but was willing to make sure he was safe and cared for.

Kirby is about seven years old.  He was matted, thin and his teeth were in such poor condition that he required dental surgery to remove them all.  He was also neutered and vaccinated.  He is very tiny, alert and friendly.  He's very happy to be in a temporary foster home where he got food, love and care.  He's a very cute little boy whose left ear sometimes sticks straight out!  He loves to be held and cuddled.

On July 9, 2013 we learned that his foster family had grown so attached to him that they couldn't give him up.  He now lives in Jacksonville with his new family which includes several dogs and cats with whom he gets along very well.  Congratulations, Lisa and Kirby!

"Tatiana" came to DunRoamin' on February 13, 2013 all the way from Palm Springs, California where she had been rescued from a very overcrowded hoarding situation. She's about a year old. She was spayed, vaccinated and tested for heartworm before making her way to Canada.

Understandably, Tatiana was timid and a little unsure of things. She's slowly getting used to Carleton County accents and is soaking up all the love and compassion that surrounds her. She's looking forward to having a new family but in the meantime is happy to have a wonderful foster home in Hartland.

On June 14, 2013 we learned that Tatiana is now a permanent family member in Hartland where she'll live happily the rest of her life.  Thanks for giving her such a great home, Emily!  Please send us new photos for the website!

"Lucy" came from California, USA with some other dogs rescued by the Animal Rescue Corps on March 12, 2013.  She was about a year old.  She was already spayed.  She was quite timid, but made great progress thanks to her foster family.  She is good with dogs and cats, is crate trained, good on a leash, likes the car and knows some tricks already.   Lucy was shy, but that's only because she didn't know anyone and was in an entirely new country.   Her foster family helped her quickly overcome that, and she fell in love with the man of the house.  He was her every dream!

On June 8, 2013, Lucy was adopted by a family from Mirimichi.  She'll be a friend for their other dog and will have the best home ever.  We're very grateful for their love for you, Lucy.  Please make sure to write often.  You're very special.  As Dorothy once said, "I think I'll miss you most of all . . ."

"Winnie" came to DunRoamin' from the Perth-Andover area on May 28, 2013.  She had been running loose on the highway and had almost been struck several times by vehicles. She was brought to DunRoamin' where her earmites and teeth were treated.  She will also be spayed.

On June 2, 2013 Winnie met a lady and her Daschund who will now be her new brother - they got along famously at the very start, and he's happy to have someone of his own height to hang out with!  Winnie will live in Woodstock where she'll enjoy the life of Riley!  Thanks, Lea!

"Orser" came to us on April 30, 2013.  He is a 10-12-month old Lab mix who was seen in Carlisle almost two weeks previously.  He was limping and obviously injured but no one could get close to him.  They left him food and eventually were able to trap him in a shed and bring him for help.

Medical assessment determined him to be emaciated and his right hind leg was dangling.  He had been shot and the bullet had hit his hip at a 90-degree angle resulting in a huge hole under his anus that extended down towards his groin.  There were bullet fragments all through his hind end and the wound was infected, resulting in him having a very high fever also.  IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medications were immediately started and his right hind leg was amputated.  He was also neutered.

Orser loves all people and doesn't mind other dogs.  He needs a special family that can appreciate his unique medical status, but he's going to be perfectly fine.  We're grateful to the people who recognized his plight and took the time and energy to do something about it to give him a new life.

On May 30, 2013 Orser's new life began when he was adopted by a very kind gentleman from Juniper.  Orser will now live with him and his 13-year-old canine friend.  Congratulations!

"Barack" came to us on May 4, 2013 from New Denmark where he had been tied his entire life.  He was rescued by a couple who could not keep him but couldn't stand to see him tied forever.  Barack is part Husky and part Shepherd, and part of his left eye is a beautiful shade of blue.  He was born about May 2012.

Barack learned dog manners while he was fostered by a dog person and her pack of dogs.  He likes other dogs and loves people.  He has a great personality, loves to play now that he can actually move without the constriction of a rope and is looking forward to the start of a real life with a family who will love him and treat him the way he deserves to be treated.

On May 25, 2013 Barack was adopted by a nice lady who came all the way from PEI to meet him after falling in love with him on this website.  They're best of friends already.  Congratulations to both!

"Alice" came to DunRoamin' on April 25, 2013.  She's a beautiful five-year old Collie mix who was found near Beaconsfield miles from any houses.  She was covered with burdocks and was quite thin.  She is eating well now and will quickly fill out to her proper weight.

Alice is fine with cats and other dogs.  She's good in the car, is house trained and walks well on a leash.  She is already spayed and has had her first vaccines.

On May 20, 2013 Alice was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock.  They're already best friends and will spend lots of time in the great out-of-doors with each other.  Congratulations!

"Egypt" came to us from Fielding on April 27, 2013.  She had developed parvovirus and needed intensive care, so was surrendered to DunRoamin'.  She is about 12 weeks old and is a Shepherd mix.  She's been treated and is doing very well.  She'll be ready for a home in the next couple of days.

Egypt is very cute and wants to be by your side at all times.  She's a real cuddler.

On May 20, 2013 Egypt got a new home and family.  She's now living in Ashland with her new canine and human friends. "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!"  Congratulations!

Luthor is a very loving little dog.  He was shy at first but came around after about a week.  He did great in his foster home in PEI and loves to go for walks and chew on bones. He likes cats and dogs, is house trained and does best with a consistent feeding and bathroom/walk schedule.  He is good in a crate or loose in the house during the day and likes to sleep on the bed with you at night.   He is also excellent in the car and will sleep quietly on the back seat.  He also loves to curl up on the couch to watch tv with you - you even get to pick the show!

On May 8, 2013 Luthor was adopted by his foster family in Charlottetown, PEI where he'll live the rest of his life with his new best friends.  Congratulations, Luthor!  Please write often!

Woody was a little self-conscious and insecure, but that was to be expected, since he moved across the entire United States in only five days of travel. Different sights, smells, accents - all these new thing took a little time to get used to, but he settled in well.  He was fostered in a great home in Charlottetown, PEI.

"Millie" came to us on April 6, 2013.  Her owner had been diagnosed with cancer and was unable to return home to care for her.  Her options were extremely limited.  Millie is about five years old and is a Chihuahua.  Millie was examined by a veterinarian and found to be in good health.  She's a little overweight, but that can be fixed with diet and exercise.

On April 6, 2013, the same day she was officially relinquished to DunRoamin', Millie was adopted by a family from Fielding, NB.  She'll have the pleasure of a family with another dog, some cats and two young children whom she already loves.  She's enjoying a ton of exercise and the smile never leaves her face!

"Farnell" came to DunRoamin' on April 4, 2013 from Beaconsfield, NB when he was diagnosed with parvovirus, a terrible affliction for a little puppy.  He was born about January 1, 2013.  Parvo is a very serious problem for dogs and he will require intensive medication and care.

Despite how terrible he felt, Farnell was very nice to the people caring for him.  He's a Shepherd mix and is grateful for the love, care and attention he received.  He did well under veterinary care.

On April 5, 2013, Farnell was adopted by a young girl from Killoween, NB.  He'll spend the rest of his life with her and her family.  Congratulations, Farnell!

On April 1, 2013, DJ was adopted by a family in Grand Falls, NB.  We hope you'll send us lots of photos and updates, DJ.  We'll definitely miss you.

"Hulkster" came to us on March 12, 2013 from Palm Springs, California where he had been picked up as a stray in November, 2012.  He wasn't doing well in their shelter and needed an alternative where he could actually have a chance at a decent new life.  He's a one-year old Corgi mix who is healthy and neutered.  He loves the car, walks well on a leash, likes to go in his crate for a nap and likes cats.  He loves to chase balls and play with toys.

Hulkster begs for food by sitting pretty, can speak on command and shake a paw.  He's got lots of potential - just needs someone to recognize it and give him the "opportunity of a lifetime" - literally!

On March 30, 2013, Hulkster met the right person.  He now lives in Charlottetown, PEI with his new familiy which includes another dog, Davis, and several cats.  Thanks to his new family!  Please send lots of photos and updates, Hulkster.  We'll miss you!

On March 13, 2013 he was adopted by his new family and he'll now live in Fredericton.  Please send us lots of photos and updates, Martin, and please come back and visit often!

"King" came to DunRoamin' on February 13, 2013 all the way from Palm Springs, California. He is the dad of several rescued dogs and had been rescued from a hoarding situation. As he, his pups and numerous other dogs were living in a very crowded situation, help was requested and the Animal Rescue Corps brought them all the way across the continent to find new homes in the Maritimes. We'd all like to thank everyone who took part in helping these dogs - especially Scotlund, Tim and Lara.

King is about three years old and is a Saint Bernard/Lab mixed breed. He is neutered, vaccinated and tested for heartworm. He's very loving and affectionate and a very kind boy. He particularly loves couches and beds! He's fine with cats and loves other dogs, too.

On March 5, 2013, King was adopted by a couple in Grand Manan.  Congratulations, King.  Have a great life!

"Scotlund" came to us on February 14, 2013 from the Upper Kent area where he was rescued by animal control workers when he was found with a chain embedded in his neck. It had been there for awhile, as his skin and fur had grown right through. He was about two years old and is a very nice boy. He's very happy to be safe, pain-free and have his injury and infections treated.

Scotlund is named after the gentleman who leads a group of rescuers called ARC (Animal Rescue Corps) who are to thank rescuing numerous dogs.

On February 24, 2013 Scotlund was adopted by a family with three young children who already love him as he deserves. He seemed to know that this was his family and settled in right away. That's the way it should be, Scotlund. We wish you all the best in your new life.

On February 8, 2013, that wait was ended. Sakura met a lady from Moncton where she'll now live permanently. We all thank her for giving this beautiful girl a home. Please keep in touch and send lots of photos and updates.

"Thelma" came to us on January 24, 2013 from the New Denmark area. She was about five years old and is a Terrier mix. She was thin, matted, cold and had tartar on her teeth which had to be removed.

Thelma is a shy little girl, but she rapidly learned that each person who picked her up would give her lots of love and comfort. She's very tiny but has a heart the size of the great outdoors.

On February 7, 2013 Thelma was rewarded with a permanent home where she will live with her new family which includes one cat and another dog. We're quite sure this is exactly what she's been waiting for her entire life: family, love, compassion and a soft warm bed. Who knew life could be this good, Thelma??

"Balto" came to us on January 24, 2013 from the New Denmark area. He's about 17 years old and had alledgedly been tied outside his entire life. He is an intact Husky. He was thin, cold, matted, has weakness in his hind end and also has cataracts.

He is now safe, warm and loved. He was treated for all his needs and had a soft, warm bed on which to sleep comfortably, although it took him a little while to use it. Once he realized how soft it was, he was right in the middle of it!

He's a really nice boy, and he'll get the very best of care now.

On February 4, 2013, we're happy to announce that Balto will spend the rest of his life with a very nice lady who has offered him a place in her huge heart. He'll have all he ever dreamed of now. He thanks everyone who had a part in giving him the pleasure and wonder of this new life.

He was timid and quiet, but was aware that the people with whom he was staying were caring and affectionate, and we're sure he'll be fine.

On January 30, 2013 Luis was adopted by a lady and her young daughter. He'll have the best home ever in Jacksonville. Congratulations, Luis. Today is the first day of the rest of your life!

"Trish" came from the Plaster Rock/Arthurette area on January 1, 2013 where she was found running loose along a road. Many houses in the area were contacted, but none knew to whom she might belong. She's about four years old.
